This past weekend was the American Thanksgiving. Basically only Canada and the United States celebrate this event. I am thankful for that time set aside so that I am forced to stand still once again and remember of all the good things He has given me. God has blessed us with good health, good friends, loving friends, kids that serve the Lord, daily food, ability to serve Him here in Haiti . . . .

Mary and I spent the holiday long weekend in Gonaives from Thursday to Saturday at Patricia Gauthier's place - a fellow Canadian we just met this past Canadian Thanksgiving. She is in charge of setting up a school, medical clinic, small industry and more. Some of the roads we travelled were very good.

And some of the roads were like a washer board - traveling at 25 km per hour - like this road here. Beautiful sights while being bounced around. The 170 km trip took 5 hours.

Here I am cutting hard board with Antonio, the guard at the house of Patricia. These boards were then painted a flat black and then could be used as small chalkboards for the pre -K and K class in Patricia's school. This is the first year the school is open and she is starting with these two classes. Another class will be added each year. The 32 'chalkboards' were just enough for these classes.
