This past weekend we spent time away at Ted's place on the beach about an hour away from Port-au-Prince. What a God send! Peaceful! Quiet! Restful! Enjoying God's gift and getting a lot of sleep, much needed sleep, which God has given me as a gift in the first place.
What can one say to describe this? We just sat and watched His presence in the beauty of the creation - a sunset.

Proud to be a Canadian! And just to see the cross with the flag, awesome! And that word I use sparingly - it is a God thing! Today at supper time, someone in the Canadian army ordered $500 worth of pizza, but the captain wouldn't permit the delivery. We had a volunteer at the right place at the right time - a God send - and all we enjoyed delicious pizza - courtesy of the Canadian army :-)
But on the drive back to the campus, the reality of what has happened hit us once again when we see the devastation. The beach is north of the airport and til this day I have not seen nor do I want to see the total destruction of many a community.
