Yes, we do have reading buddies here. The students of the Middle School go to the Elementary School each week and read with or to their assigned partners. A great time for both to practice their reading skills and build friendships.

Yes, Mary was a teacher in the third grade this past Wednesday. She came all prepared for the day with her special cookies to be given out at the end of the day. The children in the class call her grandma. That all goes back from the time they were in grade one and she brought them cookies one day. When they see her on the school grounds, that is the way they address her. And no, Mary does not have the desire to become a full time staff member :-)

This is Dave Carter. He is a Canadian eh, from B.C. He visited the school last year and has come for a return visit. He brought his wife with him this time. He spent four days teaching seven staff members how to test students in special areas. Then these teachers will be qualified to test students at QCS. He will also test various students (one on one) attending QCS. We appreciate his willingness to share his expertise with us once again. Maybe this will become a yearly event:-)

These are some of the families who lost a child with the school collapse in Petionville and/or have a child in the hospital because of the collapse. We collected money at the school to help cover the cost of transportation - to visit their child in the hospital or to help cover the cost of the funeral. As one father explained, I have one child in the hospital, one child came home and one is living in heaven.
