Three staff members re-enacted the story of 'On the Road to Emmaus' at the Elementary School chapel this past week. This certainly was an eye catcher as well as an attention grabber as the students listened carefully to the show and tell of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We serve a risen Savior also on this day.

Once again a picture from the mountain - the observation point. You can see the ship - the Comfort - in the bay. Our students were interpreters for this ship of mercy during the last ten days. Each morning, the bus with an armed escort - motorcycle police, came to take our translators to the naval area in the harbour. Some of the 20 students who volunteered even had the opportunity to get aboard the ship while others served as interpreters at the triage centre.

Elections are happening today. So that there would be a safe environment for the elections, there was an issue by the government that no vehicles were to be on the roads from 9 P.M. Saturday night until 5 A.M. Monday morning. No church service this morning except in the households. Oh how quiet everything is! No Haitian preacher screaming through the loud speaker across the road. No horns a honking. No tires a screeching! Only the ocassional vehicle racing past. No taps taps. No public transportation! How can we vote? Only by walking, but the streets are deserted. It just seems so eerie knowing there are three million people in this city and there is hardly anyone in sight!!!
