This past Saturday afternoon, we walked to the Director's house where there was a purse party. Here there were sewn purses available to buy for $US. These purses were made by ladies trying to make a living for themselves and their families. Heartlineministries.com teaches these women prenatal care, baby and child care as well as literacy classes along with nutritional teaching to enable these women to make a living. This in turn will help these women to raise their children in Haiti and not "give" them away to an orphanage here in Haiti to be adopted out to another country.
Friday was a special day - Valentines's Day for the staff. Lauri Desir, a staff member from last year, had some staff members put up the decor in the staff lounge and bring treats and various brands of coffee. A great way to end the school week. We need to show the love of Christ not only on this day, but on every day He gives us to serve Him. Every day needs to be a Valentine's Day. Be sure to live the life of love this day.
A truck load of love. The grade sixers had a walkathon at school and with the money they raised, they bought rice, beans, oil, peanut butter and more. This past Friday, they brought the food to Sunshine School, a school where our grade six teacher, Ann Farquharson is involved. Our students interacted with the kids there, showing the love of Christ in word and deed.
