The rains came this past week, raining at least four nights. I'm glad that the rains come during the evening and not during the day time. Since our apartment is partly below ground level, the torrents of water can't drain fast enough through the small drain pipe which easily gets clogged with the small leaves which 'rain' down during the dry season. Here I am sweeping the water.

This is the scene of the roadway behind the school - the road the parents use to enter and exit the school property. It is not a paved road and the torrents of water just wash the road away down the hill. It becomes a chore to see if one can get into the school without getting stuck. The maintenance staff did get a wheel barrow and tried to fill the major depressions with rocks and gravel, which all helped until the next rains.

Each week Mary continues to make her rounds in the Ravine with Kez who is a nurse volunteering here in Haiti.

Our 'computer guy' - Sean, is working here with a student during our break last week on getting the elementary classrooms wired for Internet services. Although the ES staff room was connected, the classrooms were not. Staying connected to the world is a real challenge for Sean.
